Bespoke Camera Bag
As you can see from this website I take a lot of pictures and need a decent sized camera as some of my work is published and printed to large sizes.
My camera of choice is a Canon 50D with a 70-250 Zoom lens permanently fitted. This is a hefty piece of kit and although made of some specially tough alloy really needs protecting from knocks.
With that I like to carry a 580 flash with diffuser, spare batteries, cables and data cards.
Having struggled with a variety of bags, including just putting the camera in my tool bag, not a good idea, it was evident that the camera gear really needed a bespoke bag just to hold these items.

My design inspiration came from the 1930s & 40’s Box Browny case - very square and chunky.

The Strap is a one piece design with a shoulder pad which is two thicknesses of leather with the strap going through it. It started out as a single piece but was ineffectual and kept curling up so I added the second which not only solved the problems but improved the look and feel.

All three flaps have been lined with pigskin which in hindsight should have been black as while edge dying some crept around to the lining !!!!!
All Stress points are riveted and sewn whilst the roundel at the top of the strap closure has a further round of leather between the main parts to give a raised effect.
