Little did I appreciate when Carolyn sent me the above picture of a book she had acquired what a whopper it was until she brought it over for me to have a look at.
The pages are on a thick cartridge paper with the biggest being some 4ft long as you can see in the picture below. They are all double sided with all of the patterns being life size.
It measures in at 2×1 feet (615 x 320mm) when closed and ironically the cover is PVC.
It is a comprehensive leatherwork manual, heavily accented to carving and embossing, of the late 1950’s with this version being issued in circa 1976 and is a classic reference work.
